After graduating from the Royal College of Surgeon Ireland (RCSI)with Honours, in the year 2009, she completed her internship  at one of the leading hospitals in Dublin, Ireland. She is fully registered with the Irish Medical Council.

Dr Zafrina then returned to Malaysia, and worked in GHKL and Klinik Kesihatan. She obtained full registration with the Malaysian Medical Council. She was offered to further her medical training with the Royal College of Physicians Ireland at a leading hospital in Dublin.  She worked in multiple specialties such as Neurology, Cardiology, Respiratory Medicine, Accident and Emergency Department,  Radiation Oncology, Clinical Microbiology and Medicine for Elderly. During her work in Ireland, she found her interest in Neurology, especially migraine management, while working at the National Referral Centre of Neurology and Neurosurgery.

Upon returning to Malaysia, she started to focus on primary care in Malaysia as she believes there is an area for improvement in patient care. In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, she was given an opportunity to pursue Master in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), the third best university in the world for Public Health.

During her Master’s thesis, which focused on vaccination behavior, the study showed that there is a gap between the patient and their understanding of vaccines, due to a lack of information from healthcare professionals. As such, Dr Zafrina decided to set up BeHealth CLINIC to ensure each patient has the best experience while focusing on good communication and prioritizing patients’ health.

Dr Zafrina also then pursued Leadership In Medicine program at Harvard Medical School. She graduated with Distinction and was awarded First Place and Best Project for her proposal related to Wound Care Management. She aims to have an organization that provides the best of health care management for patients and her staff.
